Abstract

The tools used in the mentoring process are rich and diverse, focused on mentoring techniques. Emotional intelligence and the level of emotional intelligence (EQ) are complementary to academic or conceptual intelligence based on understanding (IQ). Self-realization, self-awareness and empathy are basic elements in the mentoring process. Maintaining performance standards for the public sector, through mentoring processes and techniques, is based on information, performance monitoring, periodic analysis and evaluation of procedures and operational processes, and the environment conducive to their implementation. The problematic breakdown of the sets of principles applicable in the public sector intersects with the objectives of the mentoring process, through planning, monitoring, evaluation, recommendation, measures taken and even the use of alternative or complementary methods. Thus, the use of the mentoring process in the public sector leads to an increase in the degree of trust and awareness of the public interest and to the preparation in an adequate and efficient way for obtaining high-performance results.
